Womb to Bloom
ITEC, CIMI, Dipl Ed Antenatal Education, IBCLC
Cathy Johnson, wife and mother of two girls, lives and works in Berkhamsted in Hertfordshire. She founded Womb to Bloom, in 2008, offering pregnancy and parenting support to expectant mothers and new parents, focussing on education, therapies and consultation; easing the transition into parenthood. Her goal for some time has been to provide a centre in which to combine a number of activities and resources for parents and the general public.
Cathy is a former experienced midwife having worked at a number of hospitals and for many years at The Birth Unit at St John & St Elizabeth Hospital in London. She trained as an antenatal teacher with the NCT and has been working for over six years teaching over ninety antenatal courses. More recently she qualified as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) to give breastfeeding support and now combines all aspects of her work alongside being an experienced Aromatherapist (ITEC) and Infant Massage Instructor (CIMI) with the IAIM (International Association of Infant Massage).
Cathy believes in offering emotional support combined with practical guidance to build parents confidence in their own ability to give birth and in their own parenting skills. Now this support and that of other complementary therapies can be accessed all under one roof in a relaxing and stress-free environment in the centre that is Carmenta Life right in the heart of Berkhamsted.
