Osteopathy

At Carmenta Life, our registered osteopaths specialise in osteopathy for children & women. Our mission is to help you or your child out of pain and back to health. Our qualified and experienced osteopaths aim to provide you with the highest standard of care and osteopathic treatment.

We look at your overall health, not just your symptoms so that we can identify the root of the problem. Together, we’ll help your body to work, move, and feel better.

Osteopathy For Pregnancy

Muscular and joint pain in pregnancy is so common that it is often considered normal – we disagree. Pregnancy should not mean that you need to suffer. Pain or discomfort is a sign that your body is struggling to adapt to its new shape and needs help.

Osteopathy can help to provide relief from many pregnancy-related aches and pains, as well as more specific conditions such as pelvis, back and neck pain. If you have suffered an injury to your pelvis or coccyx, it’s worth seeking treatment to support the function of the tissues before you go into labour.

Osteopathy for Mums

New mums are often too busy to deal with any hindering discomfort following the birth. Everything is wrapped up in caring for babies – and we’re all so very tired! However, it’s a good time to treat postpartum effects as the body is most responsive soon after labour.

Many suffer from back pain, sore thumbs or an aching neck following the delivery of their baby. For some women, pain in the lower back and pelvis doesn’t ease as quickly. A postnatal assessment and osteopathic treatment can help your body cope with the strains and changes your body has gone through.

Osteopathy for Babies & Children

Osteopathic treatment is safe and effective in helping children with a wide range of problems. Young children often find it difficult to voice their feelings and instead display changes in sleeping patterns, behaviour and general health. Our osteopaths will carefully assess your child to see which treatment approaches may be of help.

Treatment of children is a specialist area of osteopathic practice. All our osteopaths have undertaken postgraduate training in Paediatric Osteopathy and are trained to screen for medical conditions to refer you to another health professional if required.

An Osteopath uses their clinical knowledge together with their highly skilled sense of touch, known as palpation, to diagnose and treat people of all ages.   Osteopaths are primary health care practitioners and recognised as Allied Healthcare Professionals by Public Health England with a statutory regulatory body, The General Osteopathic Council.

All Osteopaths practising in the UK have undergone rigorous clinical training for 4 to 5 years.
