I have been doing yoga sessions with Sarah on Mondays for the last 3 years and for the last year I have also joined Sarah’s Friday sessions. I always get a good workout and on Mondays it sets me up for the week and on Fridays for the weekend. The sessions offer a good variety of exercises with clear instructions. She usually structures the session depending on the participants ability, therefore I recommend Sarah for beginner, intermediate and advanced sessions although I don’t do advanced yoga. – Kurt, a fit pensioner

What is Yin Yoga?

Yin yoga is a slow and stilling practice, which wonderfully complements the more dynamic styles of yoga and is the perfect antidote to urban life. While faster, more muscular (yang) types of yoga emphasis internal heat and the lengthening and contraction of our muscles, yin yoga targets the deeper connective tissues – the ligaments, bones and joints – which are not normally exercised as much in more active styles of yoga. Yin yoga works largely on the pelvis, hips and spine. Most postures are seated, and they are held for between one and five plus minutes. While initially this style of yoga can seem quite passive or soft (even boring), theres a deeply satisfying challenge in holding the pose. Yin yoga is suitable for almost all levels of students and is something you really need to experience to know what its all about

Yin yoga gently opens your body to improve flexibility and release any mind-body stresses. It cultivates a deep sense of awareness and encourages you to let go of nagging goals. The aim is to just ‘be’ in the pose, to find stillness and deep relaxation.
