November 2023
Due to my Nhs work, my availability for private consultations is limited. I will do my best to offer you an appointment to suit you, as soon as possible.
I am delighted to be able to provide face to face consultations at Carmenta, and video consultations, but please note, I do not provide home visits.
There are still some changes in place, to promote safety, provide the highest quality of care possible and adhere to current government/healthcare settings guidelines regarding COVID-19.
All appointments last up to an hour.
You may be coming to see me for breastfeeding or bottle feeding support, or for your baby to have a tongue tie assessment and potential division, or both. Feeding support is included in all appointments as needed.
Please scroll down for details of what to expect during a consultation and the procedure of tongue tie division. (Downloadable tongue tie information for parents leaflet).
You will be invited to answer some questions on any relevant medical and feeding history, prior to our appointment, by email/text/WhatsApp. This information first, helps us to make best use of our appointment time. All information/photographs/videos are confidential, as per my privacy policy.
The consultation room, including all surfaces, is cleaned thoroughly before and after each client according to government guidelines and Carmenta Life infection control policy. Hand washing facilities and sanitiser is available for use.
I follow local Nhs and government guidelines for healthcare settings, which means I shall be wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including plastic apron, a mask, and sterile gloves for tongue tie assessment and for the procedure of frenulotomy (tongue tie division).
I will need confirmation that anyone attending a consultation have no symptoms, nor tested positive to COVID-19, within the past 2 weeks; And that no member of your household have any symptoms of COVID-19, such as a temperature of 37.8 degrees Celsius or above, new persistent cough, flue like symptoms, diarrhoea, loss of taste or smell. Please contact me and do not come to your consultation if you or your baby have a temperature or any symptoms as above.
The primary carer, usually Mum if breastfeeding, is very welcome to bring one other person to the consultation for support. However, I do ask that young children do not come into the consultation room, as it becomes very difficult for parents to 1) concentrate on me talking, 2) prevent inquisitive fingers touching medical equipment, and also, 3) some young children become distressed and understandably need full attention when I am examining their baby sibling. A parent/carer and other children are very welcome to wait in our reception area if needed.
Current Prices:-
Tongue Tie Division is £220
This includes assessment and feeding support.
This also includes follow up support as needed, by text/WhatsApp/email for one month, and a follow up phone call within 10 days. You are also welcome to join our Free drop in Breastfeeding Cafe on Thursdays 1.30-3pm. Please see our details below.

A follow up face to face appointment for feeding support, tongue function reassessment, assessment for any reformation of tongue tie, or redivision is £85.
An antenatal consultation is £85. This can be really helpful to discuss any concerns regarding breastfeeding, and to discuss a plan for any potential breastfeeding difficulties.
Payment is preferred by credit/debit card at the time of our face to face consultation.
A charge of £50 will need to be incurred to cover costs, for cancellation within 24 hours of an appointment.
I look forward to welcoming you and please do ask if you need to discuss any of the above.

New mums need to feel empowered to cope with the challenging journey that breastfeeding may prove to be, in order to enjoy their special bond with their baby. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a mum blossom with confidence in her new role of nurturing her precious baby. I keep myself updated so I can discuss useful new evidence to help emotional and developmental growth of the whole family.”
