I am a professionally qualified counsellor and psychotherapist, both registered and accredited by the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). I offer counselling and therapy to individuals and couples and my aim is to support you and to work with you to help you gain insight and understanding about whatever reason has brought you to seek help. It is my belief that therapy can have a profound impact on our understanding of both our self and our relationships with others.
People come to counselling/therapy for many reasons; you may be feeling low or worried about something in your life; there may be a specific issue or decision you wish to explore, a life event which has impacted you, or an ongoing conflict you wish to resolve. Whatever your reason for coming I offer a safe and non-judgmental space in which to explore and process what has been going on for you and where you might like to go from here, including any changes you may wish to make, with the aim of moving forwards in a more positive way.
In couples counselling the specific focus is on the dynamic between you and your partner; part of this is an appreciation that there are two people’s different set of experiences, expectations and ways of being which, crucially, come together to interact. Sometimes this interaction works well or well enough, and sometimes it can produce challenges or difficulties. In individual work the focus is on you and whatever you wish to explore.
Qualifications:
- Certificate in Couples Counselling
- Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling & Therapy
- Certificate in Counselling Skills
- Masters (MSc) in Psychology
- Degree (BSc) in Psychology
I am registered and accredited by the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their Ethical Framework and their Professional Conduct Procedure. Currently I charge £50 for individual appointments and £65 for couples.
