Debi Magonet
I am an HCPC-registered art psychotherapist specialising in perinatal mental health. I provide a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment as you navigate pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
I offer both traditional talking therapy and art psychotherapy – we can work with words alone, or incorporate creative processes if that feels right for you. No artistic experience is needed. Trauma and overwhelming experiences are often described as “wordless events” where art therapy helps give shape to feelings that don’t always have language yet, particularly helpful for processing birth trauma, postpartum emotions and the profound identity shifts of becoming a parent.
I have two years of NHS experience in perinatal mental health services and acute settings at the Priory and I understand firsthand how vital the right support is during this transformative time. My integrative, person-centered approach is tailored to your unique needs and moves at your pace. I work with mothers and fathers navigating matrescence (the transition to parenthood), validating intense emotions like rage, anxiety and depression that often feel shameful or isolating.
Whether you’re struggling with postpartum mood disorders, birth trauma, relationship difficulties or the overwhelming adjustment to parenthood, I’m here to sit with you through the difficulty – not to fix or change you, but to help you find yourself in this new chapter.
