Counselling

Profile

Hello, I’m Jen Morrison, a qualified counsellor. I’m glad you’re here. If you’re feeling unhappy, lost or stuck in life, I can help.

I work with a range of people who come to therapy for many different reasons, but I’m particularly interested in helping individuals navigate through life transitions. Events such as marriage, divorce, childbirth, relocation, job loss, illness or bereavement can trigger profound feelings of anxiety and uncertainty. Even welcome and desired changes in our lives can bring up ambivalent feelings that may be hard to deal with.

You may also be at a point where you’re asking yourself some profound questions or yearning for more in life. Whether it’s at midlife, quarter-life, or any other stage of life, if you’re struggling with your identity, sense of self, and life choices, you’re not alone.

As an expat of 13 years, I also support people who are part of the international community. Whatever the reason you’ve relocated, I understand that you might be struggling with loneliness, anxiety and self-doubt, with the added complexities of cultural adjustment, homesickness, and the challenges of life in a different country.

How I can help

Have you been struggling lately – or for a long time – with any of these?

  • Anxiety, stress, and feeling overwhelmed
  • Low mood or depression, even if you’re not sure why
  • Feeling different, perhaps as if something is wrong with you
  • Difficulty building and maintaining meaningful relationships
  • Self-criticism and comparing yourself with others
  • Overthinking and perfectionist tendencies
  • People-pleasing and difficulty setting healthy boundaries
  • Guilt, shame, and regrets – the ‘what-ifs’ and ‘should-haves’
  • Struggling with your identity, sense of self, and life choices
  • Loneliness, homesickness and cultural adjustment
  • Hidden or unvalidated grief, or grieving from afar

If so, you don’t have to manage on your own. I offer a space and a quality of attention that can help you make sense of things, understand yourself better, and resolve complicated feelings.

You might want to develop clarity in your thoughts and trust in yourself, feel more in control of your life, or feel lighter in knowing that you’ll be okay even if things are not okay. I’ll support you in finding ways to navigate the road ahead in a way that aligns with your values and aspirations.
